Our Twirl class is a 45min-1 hour class that begins with a warm up and stretching of the body, it moves through the TAS progression program, ABTA Standard Solo work and is rounded out with a Dance/Twirl Routine. It is during this class that athletes gain/improve skills to manipulate the baton, blend their body and baton, whilst enhancing their performance skills. Content learnt within this class is showcased at the end of year Twirl Extravaganza.
A major element of competitive baton twirling is the ability to blend the body & baton with major gymnastic or acrobatic movements. This class will not only refine gymnastic & acrobatic movements but focus on the use of the baton with this elite choreography. Content learnt within this class will be added to both solo and group performances for a competition level. It will also be showcased at the end of year Twirl Extravaganza.
AcroTwirl is a 45min-1 hour Class that is programmed from the Acrobatic Arts Syllabus. Athletes will engage in cardiovascular exercises, flexibility, strength, balance, limbering, tumbling and the fundamental skills hand balancing, handstands, cartwheels, round offs, bridges, backhand springs and ariel tricks. This class also includes the blending of baton work and technique.
2 Baton is a ½ half hour class that concentrates on co-ordinating the use of x2 batons. Athletes will learn a series of different twirl combinations, toss sequences and apply these skills to music. Content learnt within this class will be added to both solo and group performances for a competition level. It will also be showcased at the end of year Twirl Extravaganza.
This is a 45min-1 hour class that is high intensity choreography that promotes tricks, jumps, leaps, turns, kicks and sequenced combination of body movement to the latest pop music. This class is energetic and a lot of FUN!
This is 45min-1 hour class that is designed to work on athletes technique, flexibility and is aligned to the TAS Syllabus. It is a combination of ballet, contemporary & lyrical styles of dance. This class will strongly contribute to a well rounded Twirler. Content learnt within this class will be added to both solo and group performances for a competition level. It will also be showcased at the end of year Twirl Extravaganza.
This is a 45min class timetabled in due to popularity!
This class is high intensity choreography designed to improve athletes co-ordination, memory, cardio fitness whilst exposes them to current and fresh choreography.
This class is for our competitive Twirlers. This class is invitational and focuses on extended training for competitions in the areas of Strut, Solo, One Baton, Two Baton, Pairs, Dance Twirl, Freestyle, Short Program, Teams, Specialised & Marchpast. Content learnt within this class will be added to both solo and group performances for a competition level. It will also be showcased at the end of year Twirl Extravaganza. To be eligible for this squad athletes must participate in x3 weekly classes.
